Terms of Service

These terms apply to your use of the BoltBrief website, Chrome extension, free plan, and any paid subscription.

Last updated: March 27, 2026

1. Overview

BoltBrief ("we", "our", or "us") provides a website, Chrome extension, and AI-powered video intelligence features for YouTube (together, the "Service"). By visiting the website, installing the extension, or using any free or paid plan, you agree to these Terms of Service.

If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service. Your use of the Service is also subject to our Privacy Policy.

2. Eligibility and Account Responsibility

  • You must have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract in your jurisdiction to use paid features.
  • You are responsible for keeping your account, contact, and billing details accurate and up to date.
  • You are responsible for activity that occurs through your device, session, or credentials used to access the Service.

3. Plans, Billing, and Cancellation

BoltBrief offers free and paid plans. Current features, limits, reset periods, and pricing are described in the website, extension, or checkout interface in effect at the time you subscribe.

  • Paid plans are billed monthly or yearly through Stripe.
  • Unless the checkout page says otherwise, paid plans renew automatically until cancelled.
  • You may upgrade, downgrade, or cancel through the extension subscription controls or the Stripe billing portal.
  • Plan changes, feature access, usage allowances, and reset timing follow the rules shown in the product and billing flow.

4. Refunds and Mandatory Consumer Rights

Except where required by law, stated at checkout, or approved by us in writing, fees are generally non-refundable. Nothing in these terms limits mandatory consumer rights that apply in your place of residence.

If you believe you were charged incorrectly, contact [email protected] with your account email and a short description of the issue so we can review it.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • engage in unlawful, infringing, deceptive, abusive, or harmful conduct;
  • bypass plan limits, rate limits, access controls, security features, or technical protections;
  • resell, sublicense, scrape, mirror, bulk-export, or commercially exploit the Service without permission;
  • interfere with the stability, security, or normal operation of the Service; or
  • reverse engineer or use the Service to build a competing product, except to the extent applicable law does not allow that restriction.

6. AI Output, Third-Party Services, and Content Responsibility

BoltBrief uses platform-managed server-side AI providers to generate summaries, comment analysis, and caption-free video analysis. You do not need to connect personal provider credentials or separate AI accounts to use the product.

  • AI-generated output may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for your specific use case. You should verify important information independently.
  • The Service depends on third-party platforms and vendors, including YouTube, Stripe, Cloudflare, and managed AI providers. Changes in those services may affect availability or behavior.
  • You are responsible for ensuring that your use of summaries, transcripts, and related output complies with applicable law and third-party platform rules.

7. Intellectual Property and Limited License

The BoltBrief brand, software, website design, copy, and related technology are owned by us or our licensors. While you comply with these terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service only as intended.

Except where applicable law requires otherwise, you may not copy, modify, distribute, publicly display, sell, decompile, or create derivative works from the Service.

8. Availability, Changes, and Suspension

We may update, restrict, suspend, or discontinue features, plans, pricing, support scope, or usage allowances for maintenance, security, capacity management, legal compliance, or product reasons.

If a change is material, we will make reasonable efforts to reflect it in the website, extension, or checkout flow. Free features, trial availability, and feature limits are not guaranteed to remain unchanged indefinitely.

9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, timely, or fit for your particular purpose.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages. Our total aggregate liability for any claim will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or USD 100, without limiting any liability that cannot legally be excluded.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to some or all of the Service if you violate these terms, misuse the Service, create risk, or if we are required to do so by law. You may stop using the Service at any time, but if you have an active subscription you should complete the cancellation flow to avoid future renewals.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your place of residence apply and override that choice.

12. Changes and Contact

We may update these terms from time to time and will revise the "Last updated" date on this page when we do. If changes are material, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users through the website, extension, or checkout flow. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised terms.

Questions about these terms can be sent to [email protected], or you can visit our support page.
